Old Gringo Deletes Poor Reviews

Beware! Posted a thoughtful but disappointed review at the quality of the boots I received and within 24 hours OG deleted it. Doesn't make me feel great about the quality of their customer service to know that they're responding to constructive criticism in this way.

Poor Quality Control

To be clear—these boots are gorgeous. The design is even prettier in real life, the fit is incredible, and they feel comfortable right out of the box. But at these prices, they need to do a far better job ensuring the boots get to their destination looking as good as possible.

Mine arrived damaged in multiple places in very visible obvious ways, necessitating a return. Old Gringo deleted the product listing for months after that, so I couldn’t leave a review on the product until now.

The website does not offer the option to upload photos so I will describe the flaws: scuffs on all parts of the boot, from the toes to the heels to the sides. Scratches and scrapes on the leather of both boots on all sides. It does not appear that all of these would have happened in transit (the boots were well packaged) which suggests someone looked at these, decided they were worth charging $1000 for, and sent them out. These are not visible in the product photos and don’t appear to be “distressing” as part of the design.

Old Gringo has to approve these reviews, so I don’t know if anyone outside their system will ever read this. I really did love these boots and wanted to keep them very badly. But at $1000/pair, OG needs to step up the quality control process. I hope they do—I’d love to be able to support handiwork like this.

I am a size 9 med in most shoes and as usual purchased an 8.5 med in these OG’s. I love that the sizing at OG has been consistent over the years! These boots are the cats meow. They are not “consume-y” but look playful. They look like expensive boots because the quality is undeniable.
I like to pair these boots with navy leggings and an oversized bright red sweater. Of course jeans are a go-to but I hate to cover up that rocket on the upper ankle! To me that’s the star of the show.

My new OG glorified boot is downright amazing! Got my regular sz 9 (I'm 9.5 narrow & wear a 9 in OG) & the fit is perfection. I could not resist these when they went on sale. These are so fun & ranking high along with my Midnight Cowboy pair
